Frequently Asked Questions about why we are the way we are.
Breakfast places typically come in one of three forms: Diner, Country, Corporate...so what in the hell is happening here?! Starting a food truck as a trauma response to losing my daughter with almost no budget means we do things a little differently here. These are the questions I get asked most frequently.

What is the difference between an Eggs Benaddict and an Eggs Benedict?
A traditional eggs benedict is served on a toasted English muffin with thin slices of Canadian bacon, poached eggs and hollandaise sauce (It's very lemony, and kind of boring).
Our Eggs Benaddict is served on a grilled English muffin, and they are topped with anything from thick sliced ham to chorizo hash. We fry our eggs unless you asked for them poached. Most of them are finished with Hollandaise, but our hollandaise isn't their hollandaise. We typically have 6 - 10 variations on our menu at any time depending on what produce is in season, and what meats we make to go with it.
Wait...The Eggs Benedict Restaurant doesn't make traditional hollandaise?
That is 100% correct. We started as a food truck back in 2013 and there was no way to functionally hold traditional hollandaise sauce without it breaking constantly so we made a new one. It is oil based not ghee (clarified butter). We still use egg yolks, lemon juice, and paprika, but we also use a few vinegars and other spices to give it a more robust flavor than the lemony butter flavor of the traditional sauce.

So, what's the difference between a Benaddict and a Benaddiction?
We started as a food truck back in 2013 and the Benaddiction was what we served in those early years. We didn't have tables and chairs at most of our events, so full plated eggs benedict was out of the question. To adapt we invented the "Benaddiction" the eggs benedict breakfast sandwich. It is served on a grilled English Muffin and its piled high with any number of ingredients then topped with our hollandaise sauce (and often one of our other scratch-made sauces). When we opened our first restaurant in summer of 2014 we started serving the open face version that we named the Benaddict to help people understand the differences in egg and sauce preparation.
The Weight Benaddiction pictured left is one of our summer-seasonal Benaddictions/Benaddicts with our house-recipe pulled pork, chunky bacon, fried egg, hollandaise sauce, and our house-recipe "California-style" BBQ sauce.

What's with the owner on Yelp and Google?
Positive culture of a community is not something that happens naturally. You have to actively think about the kind of community you want and actively work to foster that culture on a daily basis. While positive reinforcement of behaviors you want to see is the best method for building a positive culture, you do unfortunately, have to employ negative reinforcement towards undesired actions from the population when the infraction threatens to jeopardize the overall harmony of the community.
But what does all that mean? It's a really fancy way of saying I want a laid-back restaurant where I get to make food that is different from other breakfast restaurants for people who are tired of eating the same food everywhere else. If you want the same food the server everywhere else, I recommend you go to those places to get it. If you are going to write me a snarky or mean review because we are different intentionally then expect a snarky and intentionally mean response. If you have a genuine concern you want to bring to our attention I'd appreciate the opportunity to fix it with an email, but if you want to write a review I get it, and I respect it, and I'll respond as politely as you write your review and do what I can to make things better for you. I'm not some monster who just wants to be mean, but I'm not going to do what everyone else does and kiss the ass of people who want nothing more than to be hurtful on the internet. I don't want those kinds of people in my building, I want my building to be a happy place, for happy people.
